CELEBRITY PORTFOLIO SAMPLES

In a seminar I attended, a famous photographer explained his approach to photographing celebrities. "You have to remember, when you are shooting famous people, that the photo session is all about them. It is not about your vision or your artistic ability." This statement is true, and the bigger the "star" the more true it is. So photographing celebrities is not my favorite thing---but here are a few examples ofcelebrity shoots I've done.

When Dolph Lundgren was a kickboxer, he was so formidable and intimidating that his opponents would avoid showing up where he was scheduled to fight and he would often find himself unopposed in the heavyweight division.
Race driver Danny Sullivan at Long Beach the year he won the Indy 500. At right he is pictured with team-owner and CART founder Roger Penske.

Margaux Hemingway, about a year before her suicide.

 Jesse "The Governor" Ventura

Michiko Nishiwaki was the first Women's National Bodybuilding Champion of Japan---and was known as Japan's Rachel McLish. After bodybuilding, Michiko went to Hong Kong to star in a series of Jackie-Chan type martial arts movies.
