"One role of art is to allow us to see what we can't otherwise imagine. In real life, seeing is not believing. Instead, we see what we believe. The visual arts can help create subjective experiences that allow us to go beyond what we expect to see in our common, everyday lives. And this is especially true when it comes to our feelings about sex and the human body, subjects that stimulate in most of us the deepest of emotional responses - both in terms of fears and transcendant pleasure. These photo experiments represent a set of artistic statements in our ongoing dialogue about the nature of sex, gender and the human body.
